Through the 30 year partnership between Towson University and New Song Academy in Baltimore City, I was given many opportunities to work with students of all ages.

Earth Day Weaving
The planning process for the earth day event involved creating a Loom out of sticks and string, cutting the string/fabric and branches into an appropriate size, and pre-weaving string into the loom as an example. Students learned about weaving with objects found in nature and recycled materials. We also discussed the importance of weaving textiles in past and present cultures.

Mandala Printing Workshop
Utilizing a trifold, I taught 8th grade students the meaning and history of mandalas. Each student created a mandala based on their identity, including their values. The mandala was printed on a bandana, expressing how people wear their identity on their clothing.
